Time to make that move?
With Autumn well and truly upon us, the thought of moving home now may well put a lot of people off. But don’t be to hasty in that decision!
Chancellor Rishi Sunak’s recent announcement of a temporary cut to stamp duty on residential properties is still encouraging buyers to make that move. Your home may well be what someone is desperately waiting for!
Whether you are looking at a bigger home, downsizing or looking to move from the city to the country, there is no doubt the move has given the market a huge shot in the arm.
The Chancellor said: “Nearly nine out of ten people buying a main home this year in England, will pay no stamp duty at all”.
In England, whether you are a first time buyer or not, there is now no stamp duty on a residential property that is your main home up to £500,000, after which you start paying tax. Might just be worth thinking again about that elusive move….
